      John Osborne Austin, The Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island, Albany, 1887: b. 1632, d. 1696. Lived in Newport, Little Compton, R.I. m. 2nd Amey Bull of Henry and Elizabeth.

      Emery, History of Taunton, UofC F74.T2E5: See father. Supplement. p. 7: "Edward Richmond, according to Mr. Drummond, had a wife before he married Amy Bull. His first wife was the mother of all his children except Henry and Amy, and Henry died without issue."

      Little Compton Families, p. 511-2:
      Capt. Edward Richmond (John(1)), born abt 1632, probably before his father came to this country. He died in LC in 1696. He married first Abigail Davis, daughter of William and Mary Davis of Boston. He married second Amey Bull, daughter of Governor Henry and Elizabeth Bull.
      Before coming to LC, he owned a place in Newport, in that part now called Middletown. A gunsmith, he bought two great lots in LC. He lived on the place known as the Father Richmond place, which is slightly north of the entrance to Meeting House Lane, on the other side of the West Main Road and is buried in this place, where his gravestone (the next to the oldest in town) may still be seen in the small Richmond cemetery. He was the first settler by the name of Richmond in LC.
      He was one of the incorporators of LC in 1674.
