- Death in Haverhill VR as John Sr., about 70 yrs old. Essex Inst. Hist. Coll. Vol 21, p. 110 says brother from Biddleford, Devon. Sold land in Essex Co., MA to Thomas Crosby 30:2m:1656 (Essex Deeds, 2 Ips.: 230). Then of Bradford, thence about 1660 to Haverhill. Will dated 17 Aug 1689, proved 31 March 1691 mentions wife Jane and children (Essex Probate). See this source for children.

The last will and testiment of John Hasalton sen Being week in body but perfick in memory comiting my soull and body into the hand of God and Jesus Christ my Blessed Savod and Redemer
will that all my lawful depts be paid a ? my beloved wif and my son Samuall to be my Executors
I give and bequef unto my beloved wife all my movable goods and cattel and my now I ? an orched with an ackre of land joyning to the [torn] and six pounds a ? yearly to be paid [torn] mony my three sons Samuell John and nathaniel [torn] shall equal propotion and that they ? to pay this six pounds a year then shall my wife have the wholl use of my wholl estate in haverhill I will that mi son Samuell keep on cow & three sheep every year for her during her life I will that my son John keep on cow and three sheep for her every year during her life I will that my son Nath[torn] on cow for her every year during her life which af[torn] ? ? ? shall be mi son Johns.I give and bequef unto my son Samuell all my [torn] ? which he now poseth in the town of brad[torn] and an hundred akres mor of lands in bradford wh[torn] fifty of it to mi daughter mary and the rest to my [torn] I will the third devition of land in haverhill to my [torn] with a ? of meadow joining to it.
